You are going to look at another person's work

1.Firstly use 5 words to describe that work

Winter
Frozen
2. Now comment on the images form

This means looking at the formal elements of an artwork.
  • What is the medium of the work?
The image was taken using a close up shot with the camera using rule of thirds method. Showing clear detail of the frost around the leaves. Then printed as a digital image.
  • What kind of shapes or forms can you find?
In the image there are many shapes of leaves shown. For example Defined, angular and rounded shapes are shown clearly in the image.
  • Which techniques have they used?
The techniques used in the image are rule of thirds. Rule of thirds help capture important parts of the image showing detail really clearly.

  • What kinds of textures can you see?
The kind of textures that stand out in the image are rough, hard and sharp textures.

3. Finally consider the mood and meaning of the work

Mood means looking at how the artist has created a certain atmosphere or feeling.
  • How does the work make you feel?
The image makes me feel cold because of the detail of the frost from the leaves really stands out in the image. It also makes me feel happy because the frost from the leaves reminds me of winter and that reminds me of Christmas.

  • Why do you think you feel like this?
The frost from the leaves reminds me of winter which reminds me of Christmas.

  • Does the colour, texture, form or theme of the work affect your mood?
No, the colour, texture and theme all think with me thinking of winter. There are no bright colours in the image to change my mood of the image.
